In particular, they have some reprinted Napoleonic (and in particular 95th Rifles) non fiction available, much of which is essential reading, but for decades has been out of print, e.g. Verner's 2 volume history of the Rifles in the Peninsular; or the Cope single volume history of the Rifles. Look under "Military Fiction", then "Bernard Cornwell", and follow the link on that page for the non-fiction items.

fiction, non-sharpe

Spanish Bride - Georgette Heyer. This is the story of Juana Smith, Spanish wife of Harry Smith who fought in the Peninsula. Although this book is out of print, it is worthwhile hunting down a copy in second-hand stores. Rumour has it that the book is being reprinted, although this hasn't been confirmed.

An Infamous Army - Georgette Heyer. Based on the Battle of Waterloo. Wellington called his army an infamous army! This is another book that is sadly out of print, but well worth hunting down.

Amazon books are worth checking for the above titles. At the last search, they could order Spanish Bride on audio cassette and there was a copy of An Infamous Army. Amazon also state they will search for the book if it is requested. Go to Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com from here. You can also try AbeBooks, a specialist site that brings together many booksellers of both new and secondhand books.

The Roger Brook Series - Dennis Wheatley. Without giving the game away, Roger Brook ends up as a spy for England and a friend of French minister Talleyrand. His adventures take him from before the French Revolution right through the Napoleonic Wars. Wheatley is an excellent teller of tales and detailer of the history surrounding events that occur. Again, the series appears to be out of print! Have you ever looked for Dennis Wheatley in a bookstore? It is another series that is worth looking for.
